SHOT by Dutch photographers Inez and Vinoodh in New York, Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2013-2014 campaign was inspired by one of the core influences for the collection: Flemish portrait paintings from the 17th century and modern artists’ interpretations of the latter.
The sculptural light, the exactitude, the structure and precision of these portraits of women and objects was brought to life by the contemporary photographers. The precise choice of models with characteristic looks became an exquisite combination and contrast to the modern collection.
“Women represented like paintings, caught in the intimacy and magic of their gestures; like frames of personal stories, to tell individual beauties and give back through the romantic yet modern point of view of Inez and Vinoodh, the magnificence of Flemish lights and 10 different characters of contemporary feminine grace and regality” Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli explained.
