LOUIS GRAY has partnered with Lulu Kennedy in creating the brand’s spring/summer 2014 collection.
"Lulu mentored me in the early days of my brand, and has always been a good advisor business-wise," Gray said. "It was great to work on Lulu & Co, which is Lulu's personal fabulous wearable label. I loved being able to inject my prints and work into the collection."
Since stepping away from her eponymous label, Louise Gray hasn’t had any collaborations until Lulu Kennedy. The Lulu & Co collection features pencil skirts and mini dresses, prom-like pleated, striped skirts, and shorts and vests adorned with graffiti prints.
"It was really straightforward and fun," said Kennedy of the design process. "Louise came to our studio and saw how our collection was developing, went away and came back with her own brilliant new ideas that sat together well with ours. She is an exceptional and original talent and has always had her own unique aesthetic, but she is also completely brilliant at collaborating and was able to adjust her work to suit a contemporary label like ours without losing its signature."
