WITH stores clearing out their summer collections to make room for the fabulous fall pieces here is quick look at the FW 2014-15 runway trends.
A Touch of Spark
The fall/winter runway was an array of embellished pieces (Mary Katrantzou), bejewelled brooch confections (Erdem), knits from Peter Pilotto and blocks of colour over paradise prints from Matthew Williamson.
Capes & Cloaks
What better way to keep yourself warm than in a stylish cape. And the fall season is packed with cloak or cape: Daks, Bora Aksu, Todd Lynn, The Row, Thakoon, Valentino, Peter Pilotto, Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen rae few od the designers that played with capes and cloaks.
Folk & Fairy Tale
From Dolce & Gabbana's forest fairy tale, Fendi channelling Little Red Riding Hood and Valentino's sense of eerie enchantment, the fall catwalk was a complete fairy tale.
Fur & Feathers
Fur and feathers were used to decorate the feet at MSGM, House of Holland, Sophia Webster and Marques' Almeida, while Rodarte opted for furry collars.
Oversized jewels were the focus on medieval hoods at Dolce & Gabbana, delicate dresses at Erdem, and other runways such as Mary Katrantzou and Celine.
The bold and stylish patchwork prints were seen at 3.1 Phillip Lim, Jonathan Saunders, Lucas Nascimento, Missoni, Bottega Veneta, Valentino and Helen Lawrence.
