It seems to be happening every year, and every time we have to go through a crash diet and lots of exercising to get rid of the extra weight. So here are some advices to keep an eye on your weight.

Work parties and family get together usually means lots of eating and drinking. Which are enemies for any dieting or healthy living. Studies reveal that most adults gain some weight over the holidays. But don’t despair you can fight it!

The key is to try to keep your current weight, instead of focusing on losing weight. Here are some simple steps to keep the extra holiday pounds off.

1. Exercising

Is important to keep on moving to maintain or lose body weight. To get rid of the extra pounds increase the amount of exercises. For example, if you’re working for 30 minutes a day, increase it to 45 minutes. If you exercise three times a week, increase it to five times a week.

2. Fruits and vegetables

Is important to eat seven or more servings of fruits and vegetables each day, to help fill-up your stomach in a healthy way. Fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients and contain fewer calories.

3. Control the risk for temptation

Best way to avoid eating unhealthy foods, such as cookies and candies, is to keep them away of your kitchen. While, you won’t be able to control all situations, is still a good start. If you can’t avoid them entirely, you can try and limit them to one a day. If you manage to stay away of holiday foods one day, just skip your one-a-day snacks. But remember not to compensate and double-up on your serving the next day.

Best way to stay away of the table food is to socialize. By focusing your energies on making conversation you will not pay attention to foods. Conversation is calorie-free.
